I began seeing Sybil for lower back pain. I was also seeing a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and massage therapist. I love yoga and am an avid runner and decided maybe some yoga therapy would be the last piece of the puzzle to reach a “pain-free” state and be able to maintain that. We started our first session by breaking down “running”. We focused on twisting and the pelvis; how the leg bone moves in the socket. Also the shoulders and how they affect the neck. Slowly but surely I started to see how slowing down…doing less in yoga and life was actually propelling me forward. I was able to run farther with no pain in my back…hips…knees. My times improved by minutes. My yoga postures also improved and I gained strength I didn’t know I had. I have continued to see Sybil and she continues to challenge me to “slow-down” both on and off the mat.
